Para comemorar o aniversário de 50 anos do Museo Guggenheim, em Nova York, projetado pelo Tio Frank Loyd, foram convidados 250 artistas, arquitetos e designers para imaginar a intervenção dos sonhos no grande espaço central circular do Museo, na exposição chamada Contemplating The Void.

Vi de tudo nas imagens que, pouco a pouco, foram liberadas sobre as tais intervenções. Na verdade me peguei muitas vezes pensando no que eu própria faria...

Quando vi o resultado hoje, não consegui me imaginar tendo uma idéia dessas. E primeiro lugar de concurso bom é assim, aquele que você tira o chapéu e não se imagina fazendo melhor.

The Buried Void

In The Buried Void, a stream of sand falls continuously from the oculus at the top of the Guggenheim into the museum and collects on the rotunda floor. For fifty years the sand will gradually fill the void, stopping on October 21, 2059 (the 100th anniversary of the Guggenheim) when it will have filled the space completely. Until then, guests in the building will be encouraged to experience and actively participate in this measure of time: as the physical objects in their lives become obsolete, visitors are encouraged to place them into museum-provided capsules and throw them into the sand. During the centennial celebration of the Guggenheim the rotunda will be excavated and the contents will be displayed in an evolutionary retrospective of forgotten things from the first half of the 21st century. The inspiration for this intervention comes from two sources: the first is wondering what will be forgotten by the future and how it could be remembered, the second is a desire to trace the passage of time through the physical means of space and objects.

Semana passada foram divulgados os projetos para o novo Museu da Imagem e Som no Rio de Janeiro.
Humpf... (comentário esdrúxulo, mas o que me veio na cabeça quando vi os projetos)
Tenho que admitir: até que gostei de 2 em particular, do Diller+Scofidio (que enquanto escrevo descobri que foi o vencedor), por mais que acredite que nunca sairá do papel, e do Isay, mesmo acreditando que ele está desenvolvendo uma fixação patológica por caixinhas.
Os estrangeiros decepcionaram. Too much.
Ficou uma leve sensação de "toma aí um projetinho para o seu museu"
Libeskind... sério mesmo?!; muita, mas muita vergonha alheia de Shigeru Ban; Brasil Arquitetura me controe um paredão de concreto de frente para o mar como que dizendo "deixa esta vistinha pra lá, é bem mais ou menos"
Não muito mais a falar sobre isso.
Apenas que a sou to-tal a favor da abertura para a arquitetura estrangeira no Brasil. Está na hora de termos outras referências para ver se essa paisagem "urgh" muda.
Abertura sim, mas quando levada a sério.
